A Long History With the Community
In 1910, Ben Martin started drilling water wells in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia to help folks find water. Back then he used a wooden steam-powered drill rig. It could take a long time, and the family getting the well would host until the job was done. The closeness to us and the local communities was born.
The Business Is Officially Born
Ben Martin taught his grandson, Benjamin W. Smith, the trade of well drilling, and in 1957 Benjamin founded BW Smith Well Drilling. Our commitment and dedication to serving you have never wavered. We’ve been serving the Potomac Highlands with faithful, trustworthy, and top-notch well-drilling services for over 110 years.
